Welcome to Lone Stone Farms.  We are a mixed farming operation located about one hour north of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  Lonnie & Karen Brown are equal partners in the operation and have been farming since 1984 alongside Karen's parents, Evan & Betty Rose Roberts.  We are so blessed to live in this area with great land to grow good crops and good cattle.

Karen spent her childhood following her Dad around the farm learning and developing a love for cattle.  Evan has been a Polled Hereford Breeder for over 50 years.  In the early 1970's Simmental Cattle came to the farm and most of Karen's 4-H projects were Simmental influenced.  Lonnie & Karen were married in 1981 (Lonnie being a local farm boy who loved cows) and took over the Simmental herd in 1983.  Evan brought in Red Angus in 1987 and sold the herd to Lonnie & Karen in 2006.  We have been running the farm under Lone Stone Farms since 1999.  Currently we run 300 breeding females and crop 1500 acres of land. Betty Rose passed away in 2000 and Evan continues to lend a helping hand whenever needed.  Especially in the area of Herd Sire selection, his expertise is greatly appreciated.

Our children Nicole & Nathan are so fortunate to have a farm heritage.  Nicole is married to Tim Shepperd and is working as a French Immersion teacher in ST. Paul AB.  Nathan is working in the Edmonton area and is playing as much hockey as he can fit in.

One of our local bull buyers recently said to us that he wondered why we kept on with the cattle when we have so much good land for growing crops.  We both love our cows and we love calving season.  Our goal as purebred breeders is to raise sound and functional cattle for our customers.  This website showcases our Herd Sire battery and our Cow herd and we will keep you updated on what’s new and happening at Lone Stone Farms.  It would be our pleasure to entertain you here at our farm anytime.
